LivingKind: certified humane-education curriculum
LivingKind provides the humane-education curriculum that trains our teachers and students across the island. The methodology has been internationally validated and adapted to the Puerto Rican context, allowing respect for animals to be integrated from an early age into the public education system.

- Certified humane-education curricula for all K-12 levels
- Continuous training and support for public-school teachers
- Bilingual materials (Spanish and English) aligned with the Department of Education
- Measurable impact metrics per school year with longitudinal follow-up
Raising defenders from the classroom
FePA sponsors elementary-school students in a program that prepares them as the next generation of animal-welfare defenders in Puerto Rico. The program combines education, community leadership, and direct action to create real grassroots change, and is led by the teacher in charge, Meliana Canino, who also serves as FePA’s secretary. Rooms To Go sponsored the construction of a space where students care for the animals they rescue.

- Implemented at Segunda Unidad Barrio Pasto Montessori in Aibonito as the pilot school
- Partnership with Rooms To Go to build the space that shelters the rescues
- Student leadership projects focused on community and animal welfare
Education Program: a six-year institutional alliance
FePA signed a six-year agreement with the Puerto Rico Department of Education to integrate humane education into public schools across the island. This agreement institutionalizes our educational network and positions it as the official benchmark for animal-welfare public policy.

- Agreement in force from 2023 to 2029 with the Puerto Rico Department of Education
- More than 1,000 teachers trained in the first year of the agreement
- 117,000 students reached through the network of trained educators
- Institutional framework for sustained, measurable curricular integration
